Re: Hopefully a new pain medication

I have been on Cymbalta for 3 months,it has helped, especially the
numbness in my feet.I can now get up at night and go without my shoes
to the bath room.It has some side effects, but hang there,it works.

Hi Fran, No I'm not on any other anti-depressants now. I was on one
about a year and a half ago trying to use it to help with my lack of
sleep before I went onto sleeping pills. But I had to get off it in
about 4 months because my memory was shot and we thought it was from
the anti-depressant. It was, because within a week things got back
to normal. I couldn't walk from one room to another without
forgetting what I went in there for. At lease now I can go from one
end house to the other before I forget. :-) Our youngest daughter
just moved back in with use after being on her own for about 6 years
and she is getting a kick out of seeing the old man standing there
trying to remember why he is going here or there. Very funny, ha,
    ha.
I sure hope this stuff does work because nothing else is doing much
except the hydrocodone, but I need to increase the amount I am
    taking about every 4 months.
I'll let you and Janet know after I give it some time.
I hope your new chair does help.

--- I started taking cymbalta the first of January and I think it is
helping with the pain of fibro and my mood. I was on prozac before.
Cymbalta is different than prozac in that besides being a serotonin
reuptake inhibitor it is also a norepinephrine inhibitor. So it works
on two of our brain chemicals. I don't know about effexor, what
chemicals it works on. I would try it though, Susie
